Randy E. Thornton

Mr. Randy E. Thornton, 49, of Cohutta passed away Friday, Sept. 29, 2006, at his residence.

Randy was president of Gene Rogers Builders LLC; was a member of Dalton Masonic Lodge No. 105, a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and was an avid outdoorsman.

He was preceded in death by his father, Steed Thornton in 1992 and his father-in-law, Gene Rogers in 2002.

Randy is survived by his wife of 27 years, Debbie Rogers Thornton of the residence; daughter, Julie Thornton of Cleveland, Tenn.; son, Adam Thornton of Cohutta; mother, Annie Jo Thornton of Dalton; brother and best friend and sister-in-law, Greg and Anita Thornton of Chatsworth; mother-in-law, Ruthann Rogers of Dalton; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ross and Maureen Rogers of Dalton; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sandi and Hap Hannah of Cleveland, Tenn.; nieces and nephews, Laurel and Adam Carter, Lacey Thornton, Emily Hampton, Allison Rogers, Michelle Rogers, Andi Hannah, Alex Hannah and Jameson Hannah; great-niece, Macy Carter; aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services are today at 2 p.m. from Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. George Ross and the Rev. Robert Staten officiating.

Burial will be in Zion Hill Cemetery.

The family received friends at Love Funeral Home Saturday.
