Thomas Auburn Stephens

Thomas Auburn Stephens, 79, of Dalton, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006, at Hamilton Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by a son, Michael B. Stephens; sister, Hazel Mason; two brothers, Vernon Stephens and Bob Stephens.

Survivors include his wife, Doris B. Stephens of the residence; a daughter and son-in-law, Myra and Louis Amos of Tunnel Hill; daughter-in-law, Sheila Stephens of Ringgold; brother, Joe Stephens of Mississippi; six grandchildren, Andrew Stephens, Christopher Stephens, Robbie Stephens, Eric Amos, Jeffrey Amos and Justin Amos; 1 great-grandchild, Kaydence Amos; nieces and nephews.

The funeral is Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home.

Burial will be in United Memorial Gardens. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 5 to 8 p.m.
