Joe Parker Williams

Mr. Joe Parker Williams, 84, a lifelong resident of Cohutta, died Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at his home after a brief illness.

He served as a member of the 203rd MP Company, U.S. Army, earning five battlestars during World War II.

He had been a member for 54 years with Millwright Local #654 out of Chattanooga, Tenn.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Vivian Wheeler Williams; daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Bill Pritchard, Emily and William Noblitt, Patty and John Carr; sons and daughter-in-law, Joe and Brenda Williams, Parker Williams, Phil Williams and Gerald Williams; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Peeples Funeral Home and Crematory of Chatsworth is in charge of the arrangements.
