First Georgia Banking Co. names new board members

The board of directors of First Georgia Banking Co. announced the appointment of Kevin Butler, David Mansfield and Jim Stanton to the board.
“We are proud to welcome these outstanding individuals to our board with a rich history of community, leadership, business and unique personal achievement,” chairman George “Bo” Hamil said.
Kevin Butler is the principal of Butler Consulting, Home Team Equity and Bulldog Park and an owner of Tailgate Station in Athens. He represents the Athens market on the First Georgia Banking Co. board. Butler played football for the University of Georgia. During his four years at UGA, he helped compile a 38-8-2 record, including two SEC titles, two Sugar Bowls, a Cotton Bowl and the Citrus Bowl. He is the only kicker to be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame and a member of all-century teams selected by Sports Illustrated and ABC Sports. Butler played 11 seasons with the Chicago Bears and in his rookie year played in Super Bowl XX. He and his wife have three children and reside in Duluth.
Mansfield is vice president and general manager of Dalton Beverage Co.. He is on the board of the Whitfield County Healthcare Foundation. Mansfield serves as chairman of the bank’s Whitfield County local board of directors. Mansfield and his wife have four children and reside in Varnell.
Stanton is the president/chief executive officer of Oconee Nutritional in Milledgeville and The Pillow Co. in Dalton. He represents the Lake Oconee market on the First Georgia Banking Co. board. Stanton is a former banker, having worked with the Bank of New York Financial Corp. and Citizen’s and Southern National Bank specializing in asset-based lending and factoring. He is a decorated veteran and served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy. Stanton and his wife have one son and reside in Eatonton.
