Fort Mountain Memorial Day weekend events announced

The naturalist program for Memorial Day weekend at Fort Mountain State Park has been announced. On Saturday at 10 a.m. a parade with decorated bicycles (walkers welcome also) will take place, and at 3 p.m. there will be a crafts program. At 6 p.m. there will be live music at the beach area with the Christian rock band Eight Days After.

On Sunday there will be a non-denominational service at 9 a.m., followed by the Mindy the Clown magic show, including balloon animals and face painting for $1, from 10 a.m. to noon. The Naturalist Cabin will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. and participants can make a craft and take it home.

On Monday at 10 a.m., Kas the Rescue Dog with owner Melinda Flood will host the “Lost But Found Safe” program. The Naturalist Cabin will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. for crafts and seeing the critters.
