SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) — Police are searching the Georgia home of a 53-year-old man charged with attempting to stalk Miley Cyrus while she films a movie in the Savannah area.
Capt. Steve Morris of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Department said investigators were executing a search warrant Thursday afternoon at the Appling home of Mark McLeod.
Police say McLeod twice came to Tybee Island trying to find Cyrus, and once told an officer he was secretly engaged to marry the 16-year-old “Hannah Montana” star.
Morris would not say what police are looking for at McLeod’s home. The search warrant was sealed by a judge.
Tybee Island Police Chief Jim Price declined to comment Thursday.
McLeod remains jailed in Chatham County on a $55,200 bond. He has requested a court-appointed lawyer.
