Odie Barnes Jr.

Odie Lee Barnes Jr., 69, of Chickamauga, passed away at his home Monday, June 13, 2011.

He was employed as sales manager for many years with Hannah Adams and retired from Displaycraft Inc. in Dalton as partner and vice president of sales. He was an accomplished artist, avid golfer, served in the National Guard as a supply sergeant but most of all a devoted and loving husband, father and Papa.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Luella Davis; father, Odie L. Barnes Sr.; and a brother, Joe Barnes.

He is survived by his wife and best friend of 49 years, Barbara Hannah Barnes; daughter, Donna (Jeff) Henson; grandson, Brent Henson; brother, Tommy Barnes; and sister, Joice Grow.

A memorial service is Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 822 Belvoir Ave., where Odie was a faithful member for more than 40 years.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
