Richard Lamar Henderson

Mr. Richard Lamar Henderson, 83, of Dalton and formerly of Calhoun, died Monday, Sept. 12, 2011, at Hamilton Medical Center.

He was born on Aug. 3, 1928, in Gordon County, and was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Henderson.

Mr. Henderson was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. He had retired from Prater Ford of Calhoun and was a member of First Baptist Church of Dalton.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Anne Chastain Henderson, to whom he was married for 18 years; and a son, Bill Tibbs of Calhoun.  

Memorial services for Mr. Richard Lamar Henderson are Thursday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating.

Burial will be in the Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 1 p.m. until the service at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in his memory to the First Baptist Church of Dalton.
