Joseph Martin Kilgore

Mr. Joseph Martin Kilgore, 81, of Chatsworth passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012.

He was preceded in death by his wife Christina Baynes Kilgore; parents, Samuel Miles and Ramie Beatrice Welch Kilgore; brother, Hershel Kilgore and sisters, Beatrice Hayes and Annie Kilgore Baynes.

Martin was a proud veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Stanley and Barbara Kilgore, Douglas and Loretta Kilgore, all of Chatsworth; grandchildren, Sgt. Justin Colby and Morghen Kilgore of Camp Lejuene, N.C., Joseph Kilgore of Chatsworth, Linda Kilgore of Chattanooga; several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to his wonderful caregivers, Dovie Kilgore, Christy Moore and Cheryl Lairsey.

Services are today at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Batchelor officiating. Interment will be in New Hope-Kilgore Cemetery.

The family recieved friends at the funeral home Saturday.
