Charlotte Geraldine Payne

Ms. Charlotte Geraldine Payne, 81, of Chatsworth, departed this life Monday, May 21, 2012, at the Hamilton Medical Center.

Geraldine was born Nov. 9, 1930, in Fannin County, a daughter of the late Jessie and Hester Phillips Payne. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Patsy Whitmire; and brother-in-law, Eugene Soi.

She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Jessie Payne Jr. and Genna Payne; sisters and brothers-in-law, Neppie Ruth “Bibby” Soi of Dalton, Polly and Robert Dilbeck of Tunnel Hill, Jewel Hunter of Chatsworth, Glenda and H.A. Newman of Calhoun, Teresa and Melvin Dills (also her caregiver) of Chatsworth; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services to celebrate the life of Ms. Charlotte Geraldine Payne will be held Thursday  at 11 a.m. from the Barnes Chapel Church in Blue Ridge  with the Rev. Floyd Smith officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 5 to 9 p.m.
