Go Rampage!

Georgia Rampage kicks off its regular season Monday night at 7:15 at the trade center. The team reported attendance of 594 for a preseason game last week. We hope even more turn out Monday night.

If the Rampage, which plays in the Ultimate Indoor Football League, are successful, and if area residents support the team, that would make it easier for the city to bring in other entertainment and sports attractions.

If, on the other hand, entrepreneurs and promoters learn that Dalton residents won’t support local businesses and sporting events, they’ll be more likely to avoid the city.

Dalton residents too often complain there’s nothing to do here. We say too often there’s plenty to do here, but there could be even more to do if area residents would attend local events and patronize local businesses instead of traveling to other cities for entertainment.

Indoor football is a fast-paced, hard-hitting sport, and the quarterback, Joel Statham, is a Murray County High School graduate. If you have the time, you might want to attend Monday night’s opening game. You might just get hooked on the team.
