Man charged with molestation

A woman who was checking her husband’s Facebook account discovered he was sending nude photos to a girl “possibly 15 years old,” according to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office report.

Matthew Wilbergene Dover, 29, of 275 Raindance Road, Dalton, was arrested Wednesday night and charged with child molestation and enticing a child for indecent purposes.

The incident was reported July 10 by Dover’s wife. The two have been separated for about a year and there is an active family violence temporary protective order against him, she told investigators.

“Mrs. Dover stated that she doesn’t have much information on the female, other than her name and that she’s possibly 15 years old” and a student at one of the local high schools, the report said. “Mrs. Dover printed out multiple pictures of her husband and the female’s conversations on Facebook that were placed into evidence.”

Dover is being held in the Whitfield County jail awaiting bond.
