Man wanted on murder charge in Tennessee arrested in Rocky Face

A fugitive wanted on first degree murder and aggravated child abuse charges in Marion County, Tenn. was arrested in Whitfield County on Wednesday.

Christopher Eugene Russell, 25, is a truck driver and authorities believed he was residing at 3030 Lamory Lane in Rocky Face when he was not on the road for his job.

The Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office received a request for assistance from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office since Russell was believed to be staying at a residence in Rocky Face. Investigators had the Lamory Lane residence under surveillance for the past few days until Wednesday when evidence was obtained showing Russell was at the residence. At about 5 p.m., officers and investigators from the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office went to the residence and arrested Russell without incident. Russell is being held in the Whitfield County Jail on fugitive from justice (murder and aggravated child abuse) charges until his return to Tennessee.
