Mrs. Velma Jean Silvers, 77, of Chatsworth, passed away on Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, at Hamilton Medical Center. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Lucille (Gentry) Williams, and a sister, Juanita Bramblett,
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Silvers; daughters, Patsy Hall and Vickie Sloan; brother and sister-in-law, Herman and Teresa Williams; sisters and brothers-in-law, Thelma and Tommy Preavette, Edna and Johnny Shipman, Betty and Alan Chadwick and Joyce Green; grandchildren, Tracy and Shanda Sloan, Justin and Vanessa Sloan, Dustin Sloan, Jason Hall and Chrissy Ayers; six great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral for Mrs. Silvers will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Cochran officiating. The family will receive friends today from 5 to 9 p.m.
Interment will be in United Memorial Gardens.
