Man arrested on rape, incest charges

A Dalton man is in jail and is charged with raping a juvenile.

Billy Joe Weatherby, 50, of 850 Callahan Road, was arrested Sunday and charged with rape, incest, child molestation and aggravated sexual battery. He is being held without bond in the Whitfield County jail and a court date was not set Monday evening.

Accord-ing to an incident report filed with the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office, detectives began

investigating when the mother of the alleged victim reported the claims on Oct. 3. The abuse reportedly occurred on Oct. 1.
