ScubaNation to feature Suwannee County sites

LIVE OAK, Fla. — The television show ScubaNation will feature Suwannee County in an upcoming episode.
ScubaNation features hosts Billy Catoggio and Mitch Horne exploring dive spots worldwide.

On behalf of ScubaNation, Cathy Lesh, owner of Dive Outpost applied for a Tourist Development Council grant to help sponsor the show and was awarded $12,000 on Aug. 29.
In the “Cave County” episode that aired in 2016, the hosts did cavern diver training. The show features Peacock Springs and Orange Grove Sink at Wes Skiles Peacock Springs State Park, Ginnie Ballroom, Devil’s Eye and Ear at Ginnie Springs in High Springs.
In the newest Suwannee County episode, Billy C. and Mitch will take an Intro to Cave diving course.
They will primarily train at Peacock Springs and Orange Grove Sink at Wes Skiles Peacock Springs State Park and Little River Springs County Park. The episode will feature underwater footage of some of the other popular cave diving sites like Telford Spring and Cow Spring.
According to Richard Black, of Florida Dive Connection, the episode is still in the planning phase and a filming date has not been set yet.
He added that the episode will air during the 2018 season.

The episode will have a minimum of six airings.
ScubaNation is also producing a Suwannee County TV commercial that will have a minimum of 78 airings.
Suwannee County TDC will be given all the footage and the commercial to use.
ScubaNation is shown on the FoxSports SUN and Comcast Sports Network on Saturdays at 9 a.m.
