Today's Forum for Aug. 6

“Thanks for publishing the editorial from the Truman Center. Your fairness is so appreciated.”

“Sounds like Kyle Wingfield has about had his fill of Trump.”

“I just wanted to say that I am very glad I voted for Chuck Payne. When I did, I believed he would serve the residents of Georgia and not just the Republican Party. And now with his vote on Senate Bill 417, I see that I was right and I’m very glad.”

“It’s encouraging to see the Daily Citizen-News getting more assertive and proactive in some of your editorials, particularly on the subject of the stormwater fee. Unfortunately, I’ve read where this is a national trend calling tax increases ‘fees.'”

“There’s only one fair way to implement the stormwater fee. Make the people that drive slow in the fast lane pay it.”

“The stormwater runoff fee is just another hidden tax by the city of Dalton. I want to ask will God have to pay that fee also because he’s the one that causes rain and stormwater runoff?”

“I would like to thank the Daily Citizen-News for sponsoring the Bible Verse Search program. I know it takes a lot of time and hard work. I also want to thank the sponsors who furnish the Bibles. I hope your generosity is rewarded with many blessings. Thank you all so much. I am already looking forward to next year’s program.”

“If utility companies are so big on helping people pay their bills, why not have a discount for senior citizens and/or people on fixed incomes? I guess it’s because of that great bargain we’re getting on the rates.”

“People, you’ve got to understand that politics is like professional wrestling. You’ve got to have a good guy and a bad guy.”

“Donald and Ivanka’s comments about arming educators shows how completely out of touch they are.”

“It is time that people said to NRA ‘Our children are more important than your organization.”

“As far as due process is concerned, it’s the difference between us and the heathen nations of the world.”

“To the person talking about leaving children at home and comparing them to animals, was he not a child at one time? Does he not have children that would cry when they wanted something or for whatever reason would cry? Did he come into this world grown? That’s just not right to talk about children like that. They cry, and it can be annoying, but they’re children, they’re babies.”

“I saw the article about Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle. I guess we know who he’s in the pocket of — the NRA. I’m sure he receives a lot of campaign contributions and we know where that comes from, too. I’m a Second Amendment believer and own firearms, but assault rifles need to be restricted to the military and law enforcement.”

“Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle only serves the NRA, not the voters of the state of Georgia. He needs to be removed from office today before he chases Delta Air Lines out of the state and prevents other businesses from coming in.”

“How many Russians are in the White House that they will not prevent the Russian hacking? They’re not taking any actions to stop that. Does that not make anybody else wonder?”
