Class acts

• Julia Ball of Rocky Face made the Dean’s List in the College of Arts & Sciences at Georgia College & State University for the 2024 spring term.

• Maryellen Hagberg of Resaca made the President’s List in the College of Arts & Sciences at Georgia College & State University for the 2024 spring semester.

• MacKenzie Hoffman of Dalton made the Dean’s List in the College of Health Sciences at Georgia College & State University for the 2024 spring term.

• Kelly Mashburn of Dalton is among approximately 300 Piedmont University students who earned a grade point average of 3.50-3.99 to qualify for the Dean’s List for the spring 2024 semester.

• Piedmont University congratulates Sydney Horne of Dalton who was among the nearly 260 students named Dean’s Scholars for the spring 2024 semester. Students earn the Dean’s Scholar designation by achieving a perfect 4.0 grade point average during the semester.

• Samford University recognized 1,931 students named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2024 semester. To qualify for the Dean’s List a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework. The Dean’s List is the highest academic recognition given by the school at the end of each semester. Local students are:

• Shorter University has announced students named to the Dean’s List during the spring semester of 2024. To achieve this honor students must have been enrolled full time and have earned at least a 3.5 grade point average for the term. Local students are:

Chatsworth

— Kiley Branam, theatre.

— Thomas Dillard, music education-instrumental.

— Natalie Tankersley, communication studies.

— Amanda Winkler, associate of science, business.

Dalton

— Leobardo Barajas, general business.

— Emily Brunson, elementary education.

— Gabriel Hill, criminal justice.

— Danielle Maffetone, general business online.

— Jaleea Whitener, biology.

Rocky Face

— Payton Tuder, interdisciplinary studies.

• Southern New Hampshire University congratulates the following local students on being named to the winter 2024 President’s List. The winter terms run from January to May. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade point average of 3.7 and above for the reporting term are named to the President’s List. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits over each 16-week term or paired 8-week terms grouped in the fall, winter/spring and summer.

• Young Harris College announces that Connor Johnson of Dalton has been named to the college’s Dean’s List for the spring 2024 semester. Students who achieve a 3.5 grade point average or better are eligible to be named to the Dean’s List.
