Whitfield County could have a new administrator by Tuesday morning.

The county Board of Commissioners will have a called meeting on Monday at 6:30 p.m. to review a contract for a new county administrator. Commissioners will meet in executive session, which is closed to the public and the media. The only agenda item is the executive session.

Tuesday at 10 a.m., commissioners will meet in a called meeting to offer the job to one of three finalists.

Commissioners have narrowed their search to Mark Gibson, the Varnell city manager; Sammy Rich, the assistant Rome city manager; and Michael Thompson, most recently the county administrator for Baldwin County in Alabama.

The new administrator will replace Bob McLeod, who left the position in December 2010 after almost four years.

Both meetings will be in Administrative Building No. 2 at 214 W. King St.
