Wanda Jean Burse ‘Sister Burse’ Carmichael, of Dalton, passed away Friday, May 25, 2012, at Hamilton Medical Center.
She was a member of Fairground Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Joseph Spencer Burse II; mother, Mrs. Mamie Jo Johnson Burse; three brothers, Misters Joseph Spencer Burse III, Charles Frank Burse and George Johnson; and her husband, Mr. Allen James Carmichael.
Survivors are her three daughters, Ms. Angela Willis of Dalton, Ms. Carla Carmichael of Calhoun and Mrs. Cassandra (Daniel) Wyche of Cohutta; seven grandchildren, Aneka Willis, Alexis Carmichael, Mia Willis, Trenton O’Neal, Whitney Beck, Danielle Wyche and Daniah Wyche; four great-grandchildren; four brothers, Mr. James Lamar Burse of Erie, Pa., Mr. Donnie Ramsey, Mr. Joe Henry Burse of Summerville and Mr. Harold Ramsey of Chatsworth; three sisters, Mrs. Julia Nell (Minister Paul) Suttles of LaFayette, Ms. Wanda Ann Bell and Mrs. Bertha (Demetrius) Tate of Chattanooga, Tenn.; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; devoted cousin, Ms. Dora Coleman; special friend, Ms. Savonna Hill; and nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Willis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. W. B. White, Dr. Jerry D. Jones Sr. and other ministers officiating. Her remains will lie at the funeral home on Wednesday after 11 a.m. until the funeral hour on Thursday.
Interment will be at Fairground Cemetery.
