Barrett Pulliam

After 10 years of degenerative illness, Barrett Pulliam left his earthly home to be with his Savior and Lord Jesus. While surrounded by his devoted family, Barrett quietly entered eternity on Tuesday, May 17, 2011, and now lives in peace with his heavenly father.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Master and Lizzie Hawkins Pulliam; his siblings, Benson Pulliam, Aloe Luffman, John Arnold Pulliam, June Wilson, Katherine Keys, Melba Hilliard and Edgar Pulliam; nephews, Lloyd Bruce Hilliard and Lamar Saine; niece, Melody Pulliam; and his wife’s parents, Charlie and Cricket Bevil.
Barrett is survived by his adoring wife of 49 years, Beverly Bevil Pulliam; son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Beth Pulliam; daughter and son-in-law, Bethina and Tate Bryson; grandsons, Evan Bryson, Boone Pulliam, Bram Pulliam and Ethan Bryson, all of Dalton; sister, Glenda Saine of LaFayette; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Harold Hilliard of Dalton, Buddy and Mary Jean Bevil of Dalton, and Bill and Sandy Bevil of Charlotte, N.C.; numerous nieces and nephews.
Barrett received excellent care from his medical family, Dr. Sarah Polow and the staff at the Health Depot; Amedysis Hospice Care of Dalton; Shaloy Penrose, RN; Joe Tully, CNA; Angela Compton, LMSW; and the Rev. Dwight Wilson. Barrett’s grandson, Evan Bryson, was a special caregiver during the last few years of his life. He will be greatly missed by his canine caregiver, Sparky, who was constantly by his side.
Services are Thursday at 3 p.m. at Five Springs United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kenny Bailey, the Rev. Scott Parrish and the Rev. Dwight Wilson officiating.
Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home today from 5 to 8 p.m.
