Mr. Arthur Dee Jennings, 85, of the Dawnville community, passed away Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at his residence.

He was the son of the late James Atlas and Mattie Jones Jennings and was preceded in death by his sister, Ethel Jennings Coggins; nephew, Robert Allen Coggins; and a niece, Deborah Coggins Campbell.

He was a strong Christian man who loved God and loved his dear wife Dot of 63-plus years and his family. He would do almost anything for anyone who asked or needed help. In short, he was a great role model of what it meant to “be like Christ” … not perfect, but a very good man who loved God and his neighbors.

Dee was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Army in the 24th Signal Company and was a member of Harmony Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Williams Jennings of the Dawnville Community; children and their spouses, Denise Jennings and Donald Montgomery of Sandy Springs, James T. (Tom) and Melissa Jennings of Duluth, and Lee Ann Jennings Cline of Dawnville; grandchildren, Russell Dee Jennings, Victoria Caitlin Cline, Emily Diane Jennings and Anna Catherine Cline; and nieces, Lynn Coggins Loy and husband Ray, Diane Coggins Mortimer and husband Mike, and Lucy Coggins.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. James Boyd and the Rev. Tom Jennings officiating.

Burial will follow in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home today from 5 to 8 p.m.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Harmony Baptist Church, c/o Carol Hix, 1596 Mt. Vernon Road, Rocky Face, GA 30740.
