Mildred Florence Manus

Mrs. Mildred Florence Manus, 85, of Dalton, departed this life Friday, Aug. 31, 2012.

Mildred was born on July 18, 1927, in Morristown, Tenn., a daughter of late William Newton and Laura Cox Bishop. She was also preceded in death by her son, Verlin Eugene Manus; brother, Lloyd Bishop; sisters, Lodena Rogers, Lois Lee and Grace Small.

She is a member of the Dalton Seventh-day Adventist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Jesse Kelly Manus Jr.; daughter, Sharon McCollum and Michael Kelly of Asheville, N.C.; sisters, Dorothy Aikman, Jean Croghan of Cleveland, Tenn.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harry and Shirley Manus of Varnell; grandchildren, Freddy and Kathleeen McCollum, Kelly and Tonya McCollum; great-grandchildren, Amanda, Jacob and Venissa McCollum; several nieces and nephews.  

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Mildred Florence Manus will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel. Interment will be in Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 6 to 10 p.m. today.
