Murray County citizens, are you for progress? Webster’s Dictionary defines progress as the movement toward a goal. The creation of new jobs is a foundational component of economic progress.
Jobs mean our children, grandchildren and future generations can provide for their families, reinvest in our community and live in a vibrant Murray County.

Corporations and individuals looking to invest in a location examine many facets of a community before making major capital commitments.
The perception of a negative attitude among our citizens concerning growth could be a determining factor in these decisions.
The proposed inland container port could be an economic game changer for Murray County. The South Carolina Inland Port opened in October 2013 near Greenville and it has been a huge success story.

Bob Shaw has announced his intention to form a new division of Engineered Floors. I know his desire is to invest in northwest Georgia to keep jobs here and grow our local economy.
The attitude of our community could be one of the deciding factors for him to locate in Murray County. Our commissioner is working hard to replace the many, many jobs our county has lost in the last 20 years.
