Verlin ‘Cotton’ Rainey

Verlin “Cotton” Rainey, 85, of Dalton, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2006, at Hamilton Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Rainey.

Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Mary and Ricky Baker of Dalton and Mary Sue Brown of Flintstone; son and daughter-in-law, George and Sue Langley of Chatsworth; seven grandchildren including a very special grandchild, Ricky Isaiah Baker; nieces and nephews.

The funeral is today at noon at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Eugene Butler officiating.

Burial will be in Veterans National Cemetery in Chattanooga with full military rites.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour at noon.

Julian Peeples Funeral Home, Pleasant Grove Chapel, Dalton is in charge of funeral arrangements.
