Dr. Oz thinks we should ‘cancel’ breakfast in 2020, says it’s a ‘ploy’

For many, breakfast is an essential start to the day. Much like a cup of Joe, the morning meal — in the U.S. often consisting of foods like pancakes, bacon, and eggs — is a daily tradition. But apparently, the idea that breakfast is a necessary part of the morning is a sham — at least according to Dr. Mehmet Oz. “I think for 2020, the first thing I’m going to do is ban breakfast,” the famous doctor recently told TMZ. “I don’t think we need to eat breakfast. That’s an advertising ploy. Unfortunately, a lot of the dogma that we were fed for decades came out of advertisements. It wasn’t really based on the truth around our health,” he added. — Fox News

Atlanta fails to land in top 10 of best cities for active lifestyle

If getting fit is among your goals for the new year, Atlanta may not be the best city to live in to make that happen. WalletHub recently released a list of the best cities to reside if you want to increase the activity level in your life — and Atlanta doesn’t crack the top 10. Two key categories were analyzed in a survey of the 100 most populated U.S. cities. They were: Budget and Participation, which accounted for 30 total points, and Sports and Outdoors, which made up the other 70 points. The categories were analyzed using 38 metrics. They included average monthly fitness club fee, sports clubs per capita and intramural leagues per capita among the Budget and Participation metrics. For Sports and Outdoors, metrics included the amount of swimming lesson opportunities, playgrounds and presence of bike sharing programs per capita. — Atlanta Journal-Constitution
