High Springs man drowns in Branford

BRANFORD, Fla. — During the Fourth of July celebration in Branford, a High Springs man drowned under the ledge where the Little River Springs meets the Suwannee River.

According to Suwannee County Sheriff Tony Cameron, Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office received a call on Monday, July 4, about a man falling from the ledge at Little River Springs around 5 p.m.

Donald Larone Robinson, 48, was celebrating the Fourth of July with his family when, for unknown reasons, he fell off the ledge and did not come back up.

The High Springs resident’s body was found around 8 p.m.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, said James Sommers, Suwannee County Fire Rescue public safety director.
