According to an incident report from the Eton Police Department, the incident occurred on March 6. The woman said Bowers appeared to fall asleep while lying on his bed watching a movie and when he woke up he “started touching her and trying to kiss her.” After telling him to stop, the woman said Bowers appeared to fall asleep again but when he woke up later he pulled her shirt and bra up despite her telling him to stop.
The woman said Bowers pushed her down on the bed and took her pants off, and when she told him to stop she said he forced her legs apart and began having intercourse with her while holding her arms down. She said she spent the night on the floor of the room and had Bowers take her home the next morning.
She told police Bowers texted her a few days later wanting to meet to apologize and told her he didn’t want to go to jail.
The case was turned over to the Murray County Sheriff’s Office for investigation and Bowers was arrested on Monday. His next appearance in Superior Court has not been scheduled, and messages left for Bowers were not immediately returned.
