VALDOSTA — A creature born from local mythos has come to live at Wild Adventures.

After a series of “mysterious” events, Wild Adventures claims to have found an unidentified creature living next to the Swamp Thing rollercoaster, surrounded by items taken from the park.

Named “Stomp,” the Bigfoot-like creature is the latest character at the park.

Stomp has a placard with information and is regularly fed his diet of corndogs and funnel cakes, according to Wild Adventures staff.

“Stomp has come out of the swamp and straight into our hearts,” said Wild Adventures General Manager Molly Deese in a press release. “Stomp is going to love our guests and our guests are going to love him – I know I do.”

The first chance for the public to meet the new character will be Saturday. Stomp will make several appearances in his exhibit throughout the day with an animal caretaker. The first 500 guests into the park will receive a “Stompbody love me” commemorative button.
