Peggy Irene Edwards

Mrs. Peggy Irene Edwards, 53, of Dalton, departed this life Saturday afternoon, Aug. 4, 2007, at the local hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Peggy was born Dec. 20, 1953, in Whitfield County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Clinton Edwards. She was formerly employed at Cobble Tufting Machine Company.

Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister.

She is survived by her children, Kenny Edwards and Tammy Edwards; grandchildren, Dustin and Savannah Edwards; parents, B.W. and Daisy Callahan Elders all of Dalton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marilynn and John Sosebee of Chatsworth, Aileen “Tootsie” Bowers of Dalton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Allen and Sue Elders of Chatsworth, Gary and Ann Elders, Ricky and Amanda Elders all of Dalton; and several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Peggy Edwards will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Watkins and Rev. Clifford Chambers officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at the Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Josh Johnson, Kevin Oliver, Chris Newberry, Miles Edwards and Phillip Bell.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today after 6:30 p.m.
