Varnell looking over manager applications

VARNELL — The Varnell City Council continues its search for a new city manager.

The council has been meeting each Tuesday night for the past four weeks to go over applications and resumes. Mayor Lindsey Metcalf said the city has received around 16-18 applications since it began advertising for the position last month. He said the council hopes to finalize a selection soon, possibly within a week.

Former city manager Ralph Morgan retired last November.
