Walter Edward Wilkerson

Mr. Walter Edward Wilkerson, 61, better known as ‘Ed’ or ‘Eddie,’ of Chatsworth, departed this life Monday night, May 21, 2007, at Hamilton Medical Center.

Mr. Wilkerson was born in Jackson, Ala. on Aug. 20, 1945 to the late D. Edward and Leona Wilson Wilkerson. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Sonja Hildegard Wilkerson.

He was a veteran, having served his country in the United States Army.

Mr. Wilkerson is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Amanda and Justin Conner of Chatsworth, Shavana and Matthew Reynolds of Chattanooga and Susan Brown of Guntersville, Ala.; son, Greg Hullender of Rossville; sister, Carol Allen of Hollywood, Ala.; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Anna Wilkerson of Stevenson, Ala.; grandchildren, Erica Cox, Amanda and Andrew Brown; former wife and friend, Helen Wilkerson.

Services are Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Wheat officiating.

Burial will be in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 9 a.m. until the service hour.
