‘Bring one for the chipper’ in Murray

Published 9:47 pm Monday, December 29, 2008

Keep Chatsworth-Murray Beautiful asks that Murray County and surrounding area residents recycle their Christmas trees after the holidays. Trees can be dropped off from Friday, Dec. 26, through Saturday, Jan. 3, at Keep Chatsworth-Murray Beautiful, 121 N. Fourth St., Chatsworth. The telephone number is (706) 618-1615. Hours are Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Participants can receive a free dogwood seedling. Dogwoods will be given out at the Keep-Chatsworth Beautiful site while supplies last. The recycled trees will be chipped into mulch or used as wildlife habitat. Mulch is used for public beatification projects and is free to Murray County residents. Residents who are currently serviced by the city of Chatsworth may also leave their trees for curbside pick-up.
