3 arrested after shooting at bar

A Dalton police officer arriving at Las Brisas, a Spencer Street bar, early Sunday morning after reports of a fight was forced to take cover when shots were fired.
Armando Nunez Contresas, 26, of 824 Fifth Ave., Apartment 2, Dalton, is accused of firing four or five shots in the parking lot of the bar around 1 a.m. Sunday. He remained in the Whitfield County Jail Tuesday evening charged with loitering, criminal trespass, obstruction of an officer, fighting in a public place, aggravated assault, carrying a deadly weapon to or at public gatherings, violation of Georgia’s Street Gang Act and first degree criminal damage to property.
No one was injured, but police took a slug out of a van that the officer was behind when the shots were fired, according to a Dalton police report. Contresas was fighting over a woman, the report said.
Police charged Conardo Vega Garcia, 25, of Dalton, with criminal trespass, loitering, fighting in a public place and obstruction of an officer. Garcia remained in the Whitfield County Jail Tuesday evening for allegedly violating his probation on a previous charge of fighting in a public place.
Police also arrested Carlos Hernandez Favela, 32, of 903 Avenue F, Dalton, after he refused to comply when an officer told him to get on the ground. Favela was charged with obstruction of an officer and is out of jail on a $750 bond.
