Hulen Smith Jr.

Mr. Hulen Smith Jr., 65, of Dalton, departed this life Monday, June 21, 2010, at the Ridgewood Manor Health Care Center. He was born April 14, 1945, in Dalton, a son of the late Hulen Smith Sr. and Frances Crider Smith. He was also preceded in death by his brother, James Ernest Smith.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Smith; brothers and sisters-in-law, Floyd and Annette Smith, Edward Lamar Smith of Tunnel Hill, Marion Franklin and Carol Smith of Villanow, J.W. and Belinda Smith of Dalton, Tom Wade and Wanda Smith of Rocky Face, Thomas Clinton and Chris Smith of Dalton; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Frances and Ray Overby of Dalton, Elizabeth Scroggins of Tunnel Hill; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Hulen Smith Jr. will be held Thursday at 3 pm at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Rev. Lonnie Starns officiating. He will be laid to rest at the West Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 9 p.m. Wednesday.
