Sherman Wallace

Mr. Sherman Wallace, 83, of Dalton, passed away Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010.

He was the son of the late Glen and Estelle Stephens Wallace and was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Wallace.

Sherman was a veteran of the United States Army having served during WW II and was a member of the Dalton First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Edwina Grogan Wallace of the residence; children and their spouses Connie and Mike Murphy of Gainesville, Andrew and Charmagne Wallace of Chatsworth, Gary Wallace of Atlanta and Steven Wallace of Gainesville, Fla.; sister, Gail Wright and sister-in-law, Joyce Wallace both of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Patrick Murphy, Paula Murphy, Kelly Fitzpatrick and William Fitzpatrick; great-grandchildren Colin Murphy, Emily Fitzpatrick and Lauren Fitzpatrick; nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Dalton First Baptist Church with the Rev. Phillip Cannon and the Rev. Billy Nimmons officiating.

Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends in the Atrium of the First Baptist Church from noon til the funeral hour at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the Dalton First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 827, Dalton, GA 30722-0827
