Florence N. Young

Mrs. Florence N. Young, 86, of Dalton departed this life Wednesday morning, Feb. 22, 2006, at the local hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Young was born Aug. 19, 1919, in Spring Place, daughter of the late James Eugene and Emma Irene Jones Grey. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie W. Young Sr.; brothers, Everett Gray and Glenn Gray and sisters, Mattie Ridley, Effie Lou Burnette and Dimple Ridley.

She was a devoted housewife, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

She was a member of Midway Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Marie McPherson of Dalton, Emma Jean and Charle Pritchett of Chatsworth, Charlie W. Young Jr. of Dalton, Loretta Thompson of Chatsworth, Wayne Lee and Barbara Young, Glenn Everett Sr. and Linda Young, Ulysses G. Young, all of Dalton; sister, Lucille Gray; sister-in-law, Bessie Gray, both of Dalton; grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Services are today at 3 p.m. from Midway Baptist Church with the Rev. Melvin Waters, the Rev. Mark Bowen, the Rev. David Watson, the Rev. Ed Pippin and the Rev. Isaac Johns officiating.

She will be laid to rest beside her beloved Charlie at Mineral Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Cheatham officiating.

The family received friends at the funeral home Thursday.
