Sybil Grant Thomason, 87, of Dalton, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2006, at Ridgewood Manor Nursing Home.

Mrs. Thomason is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Lynn Thomason; and parents, James Richard Sr. and Nannie Grant.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Kenneth Cady of Dalton, Mary Lynn and Jerry Mantooth of Dalton, and Brenda and Ronnie Sharp of Loudon County, Tennessee; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Nell Weaver of Canton, Ohio, and Betty and Carl Sanders of Rocky Face; brother and sister-in-law, James Richard Jr. (Bud) and Mary Ann Grant of Smyrna; seven grandchildren, Karen Cady, Melinda Springfield Chapman, Cindy Cady Marlow, Mike Cady, Eddie Mantooth, Kim Cady Richards, and Grant Mantooth; 11 great-grandchildren; a special friend, Vivian Ketterson; nieces and nephews.

The funeral is today at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Roach and Dr. Charlie Bridges officiating.

Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery. A white dove release will conclude the service.
