Lesa Bell Adkerson Lee

Mrs. Lesa Bell Adkerson Lee, 93, of Dalton and formerly of Cartersville, departed this life Friday, July 28, 2006, at Quinton Health Care Center.

She was born Aug. 1, 1913, in Cherokee County, daughter of the late Taylor and Annie Jenkins Adkerson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Hugh Lee; grandchildren, Johnny Howell and Butch and Becky Smith; niece, Vickie Atkinson; nephew, Lester Atkinson.

She is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Annie Maude Sumner of Tifton and Bobbie and Jimmy Holloway of Dalton; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Joan Howell of Mableton and Hugh and Nancy Lee of Nashville, Tenn.; sister and brother-in-law, Mae and James Atkinson of Dalton; grandchildren, Brenda Keller, Annette Hooker, Adrea Still, Brenda Thompson, Jan Morris, Lesia Barlow and her husband Mike Barlow Sr. and Dawn Smith; great-grandchildren, Casy and Amber Still, Courtney Beard, Miranda Thompson, Constance Morris and Brandon Godfrey, Megan, Emily and Holly Smith, Lisa Hale, Jason Hooker, Ricky Jr. and Cody Holloway, Michael Barlow Jr.; great-great-grandchildren, Lisa Lee, Amber Sinyard, Jessie Hooker, Zoe Brown, Gage Godfrey, Zackery Barlow; nieces, Doris Hobbs, Martha King, Judy Thompson, Linda Ernest, Patsy Jones, Renay Blackwell; nephews, Larry, Charles, Leeroy, David, Randy, Mickey Atkinson; special great-nieces, Daphne and August Blackwell.

Services are today at 5 p.m. in the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with the Rev. Lawrence Wagnon and Leroy Atkinson officiating.

Burial will be in the Dug Gap Baptist Church Cemetery.
