Whitfield County Superior Court

The following pleas were heard in Whitfield County Superior Court on Friday:
• Terri Lachaun Bates, no address listed, pleaded guilty to DUI and driving with a suspended license. She was sentenced to 60 days in jail; 22 months of probation; ordered to pay a $1,100 fine plus court costs, surcharges and probation fees; must perform 50 hours of community service; must complete alcohol and drug abuse counseling; must complete and attend DUI school; and must submit to random drug screens.
• Amanda Renee Dugger, 23, 736 Bishop Pond Road, Chatsworth, and Jeremy Allen Dugger, 26, of the same address, pleaded guilty to obtaining a controlled substance by fraud. They were sentenced to eight years of probation. The first 180 days must be spent on an ankle monitor. As a condition of probation, they must enter an in-patient drug treatment program within 60 days and stay in that program six to 12 months. Each must pay a $3,000 fine plus court costs, surcharges and probation fees; must complete 300 hours of community service; must submit to random drug screens; and must complete alcohol and drug abuse counseling.
• Eduardo Zubia Martinez Jr., no address listed, pleaded guilty to possession of tools for the commission of a crime. He was sentenced to 180 days in jail and was ordered to serve four years and six months on probation. The probation will be suspended upon Martinez’s banishment from the Conasauga Judicial Circuit, which is Whitfield and Murray counties.
• Kenneth Eugene Parrish, no address listed, pleaded guilty to failing to register as a sex offender. He was sentenced to three years of probation; must pay a $1,000 fine plus court costs, surcharges and probation fees; and must perform 50 hours of community service.
• Ralph Velez Perez, no address listed, pleaded guilty to DUI. He was sentenced to four months in jail.
• Lloyd Dale Rininger, no address listed, pleaded guilty to felony possession of marijuana; illegal possession of prescription drugs; driving without a license; and two counts of possession of methamphetamine. He was sentenced to eight years of probation; ordered to pay a $1,000 fine plus court costs, surcharges and probation fees; must perform 200 hours of community service; must complete alcohol and drug abuse counseling; and must submit to random drug screens. As a condition of his probation, he must enter an in-house drug treatment program within 60 days and stay in that program six to 12 months.
• Eric Lashawn Shields, no address listed, pleaded guilty to terroristic threats and DUI. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail; two years and 11 months on probation; ordered to pay $900 in fines plus court costs, surcharges and probation fees; must perform 80 hours of community service; must complete DUI school; must submit to random drug screens; and must complete alcohol and drug abuse counseling.
• Willie David Shoemaker Jr., no address listed, pleaded guilty to theft by taking. He was sentenced to two years in prison; ordered to serve eight years on probation; must pay a $1,000 fine plus court costs, surcharges and probation fees; must perform 240 hours of community service; must pay $738 in extradition costs to the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office; must have no contact with the victim; and once his probation is transferred to Texas, must stay out of the Conasauga Judicial Circuit, which is Whitfield and Murray counties.
