Evelyn H. Holcomb

Mrs. Evelyn H. Holcomb, 80, of Chatsworth, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2007, at the Chatsworth Health Care Center.

Mrs. Holcomb was born on Nov. 24, 1926, in Akron, Ohio, daughter of the late William Raper and Pearl Byers Raper. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harmon Holcomb; by a son, James Wells; and by a grandson, Robert Wells. During her lifetime, Mrs. Holcomb was employed in the textile industry and was a member of New Town Baptist Church.

Mrs. Holcomb is survived by two sisters, Patsy Fitz and her husband Wallace, of Dalton; and Peggy Crisp and her husband Gary of Atlanta; one brother, Billy M. Raper and his wife Cheryl of Chatsworth; daughter-in-law Laverne Wells of Calhoun; two grandchildren, Mark Wells and Jason Wells, both of Calhoun; two great grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive.

Services for Mrs. Holcomb will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends today during the hours of 5 until 9 p.m.

The Rev. David Ray will be officiating. Singing will be arranged by Mrs. Kathryn Quinn. Pallbearers serving will include Bryan Raper, Rodney Ricketts, Mark Wells, Jeff Hampton, Ford Russell and Mike Quarles.

These gentlemen are requested to meet at Max Brannin and Sons Funeral Home on Monday at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Gordon Memorial Gardens.
