Geneva Louise Sane

Mrs. Geneva Louise Sane, 77, of Dalton, departed this life on Saturday morning, Aug. 18, 2007, at the local hospital.

Louise was born Jan. 28, 1930, in Whitfield County, the only child of the late Paul Craig and Ruby Smith Nations. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Junior Sane; her only child, James Michael Sane; and her step-father, Jack Nations.

Louise worked many years at World Carpet and Shaw Industries in the sample department. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Louise was a hard worker, very conservative and loved her family. She was an avid Braves fan and loved nothing better than watching her grandsons play baseball.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Rebecca LeRoy Sane; grandsons, Brandon Michael Sane and Grant Hamilton Sane, all of Dalton; aunt and uncles, Edith Carpenter, D.C. and Helen Center, Arvil and Juanita Center; a number of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; cousins, family and neighbors at Whitfield Place; and a very special friend, Jupie Joiner.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Geneva Louise Sane will be held on today at 3 p.m. from the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with minister Roger McKenzie and minister Ross Jordan officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Whitfield Memorial Gardens with Evan Carpenter, Zane Carpenter, Earl Parker, Henry Lumpkin, Mark Russell and David Rymer honored to serve as her pallbearers.

The family received friends at the funeral home on Monday.
