Area Arrests for Dec. 31

• Michael Keith Burnett, 39, 262 Riverbend Road, Calhoun, was charged Saturday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with forgery in the first degree, forgery in the second degree, obstruction of a law enforcement officer, possession of a schedule III drug, giving false information to a law enforcement officer and theft by shoplifting.

• Justin David Leonard, 21, 506 Hawthorne St., Dalton, was charged Saturday by the Dalton Police Department with failure to maintain lane, open container of alcohol and DUI.

• Mandy Lynn Russell, 28, 4665 Old Dixie Highway, Dalton, was charged Saturday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with a probation violation, possession of marijuana, possession of tools for the commission of a crime, a windshield violation, disregarding an officer directing traffic, littering and possession of methamphetamine.

• Gregory Lane Whaley, 44, 2011 Broadacre Drive, Dalton, was charged Saturday by the Georgia State Patrol with DUI, speeding, a seat belt violation and bondsman off bond.

• Jeannette Early, 42, 1707 Mount Vernon Road, Rocky Face, was charged Sunday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with DUI.

• Jose Miguel Hernandez, 20, 1202 Nelson St., Dalton, was charged Sunday by the Dalton Police Department with underage consumption and forgery in the second degree.
