Dalton State College Center for Continuing Education offers a free Child Development Associate Information Session on Monday, January 7, from 4:30-6 pm. The information session is designed to answer questions about the national credentialing process for obtaining a CDA certificate which is administered by The Council for Professional Recognition in Washington, D.C. The CDA credential is a national entry-level credential for teachers and caregivers of children newborn to five years old in daycare centers, and family child care homes.

The CDA Program at Dalton State begins on Monday, January 24 and runs through May. Participants will learn to meet the specific needs of children, work with parents and other adults to nurture children’s physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth in a child development framework. The cost is $1000.

The easiest way to register is online by visiting www.daltonstate.edu/cce. The courses are listed under “Programs for Child Care Workers.” Those who would prefer can call 706-272-4454.
