Bruce P. Garvey

Bruce P. Garvey, a longtime resident of Woburn, Mass. and formerly of Winchester, Mass., passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008, after a brief illness.
Born in Winchester, Bruce was the son of the late Kenneth and Ruth (Nixon) Garvey. One of five children, Bruce attended elementary school in Winchester and finished his education at Woburn High School after his family moved to Woburn in the 60s. Following high school, Bruce was employed by Murphy’s Oil Waste Company in Woburn where he was employed for a number of years. More recently he was employed by Auto Zone in Woburn. Bruce was a quiet man who liked to keep to himself. He had a great love for dogs throughout his life and enjoyed the outdoors. He was a frequent visitor to Horn Pond where he loved to fish.
Bruce was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Ruth Garvey: his brother, Kenneth “Butchie” Garvey: and his sister, Ellen Garvey.
He is lovingly survived by his brothers, Daniel “Danny” Garvey and his wife Wanda of Georgia and Richard “Rickie” Garvey of Boston; and loving nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a Celebration of Bruce’s life on Thursday from 6 to 10 p.m. to be held at Bruce’s residence, 22 Beacon Street, Woburn. Interment is private.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn. Donations may be made in Bruce’s memory to the Soverign Bank, Bruce Garvey Memorial Fund, 19 Pleasant Street, Woburn, MA, 01801, c/o John Queen.
