Come for the football. Stay for the air show.
Fans at Friday night’s Dalton High School vs. South Paulding High School football game at DHS’s Harmon Field, scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m., will get a special treat before the game. Several airplanes are scheduled to fly over the stadium at the finish of the national anthem. The planes are part of the North Georgia Transportation Expo, which will be held Saturday and Sunday at Rome’s Richard B. Russell Regional Airport.
In addition to vintage planes, the expo will feature an antique car show.
Gene Schayer, president of the Transportation Expo, says Dalton High School will be one of about seven schools that will have a fly-over during a football game Friday night, and each will receive a portion of tickets sold for the expo to raise funds for the schools.
