Area Arrests for Oct. 31

• Melvin Dewayne Daniel, 46, 3831 Hurricane Road, Rocky Face, was charged Wednesday by the Dalton Police Department with possession of methamphetamine, bringing contraband past the guard line and no insurance.

• David Cornelius Dixon, 51, 892 Hawkins Road, Crandall, was charged Wednesday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with failure to register as a sex offender.

• Bobby Joe Franks, 23, 2089 Old Highway 2, Crandall, was charged Wednesday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with aggravated stalking.

• Laura Ann Hawkins, 40, 1970 Norton Bridge Road, Chatsworth, was charged Wednesday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with stalking, DUI, open container of alcohol in the vehicle and DUI (endangering a child under the age of 14).

• Rebecca Henderson, 57, 15 Deanna Road, Colbert, was charged Wednesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with financial transaction card fraud.

• Jimmy Lee Young, 38, 458 S. Second Ave., Chatsworth, was charged Wednesday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with possession of tools for the commission of a crime, possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute and parole violation.

• Johnny Mac Young, 38, Highway 52 Alternate, Chatsworth, was charged Wednesday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm or knife while trying to commit crimes, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon or first offender probationer, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of methamphetamine and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.

• Vanessa Elise Blackman, 18, 812 W. Crawford St., Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Tunnel Hill Police Department with DUI, failure to drive within a single lane, improper tag and a tag light violation.

• William George Burton Jr., 42, 165 Renwood Lane, Carrollton, was charged Thursday by the Dalton Police Department with DUI and failure to drive within a single lane.

• Kenneth Alan Davis, 37, 1750 Mount Vernon Road, Rocky Face, was charged Thursday by the Tunnel Hill Police Department with failure to obey a traffic control device, reckless driving, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, driving too fast for conditions and DUI.

• Misty Ann Hicks, 24, 16 Olivia Drive, Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with illegal possession of drugs with the intent to distribute, possession of drugs and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.

• Donnie Lewis Knight, 39, Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, aggressive driving, reckless driving, headlight violation, driving with a withdrawn license, driving without a license, DUI, improper tag, no insurance, open container of alcohol in the vehicle, driving on the wrong side of a divided highway, driving on the wrong side of the road, failure to drive within a single lane, improper passing, failure to obey a signal at a train crossing, failure to yield the right of way, failure to yield, failure to yield when turning left, failure to obey a traffic control device, speeding, failure to signal when turning, unlawful use of the center lane, a turning violation and unsafe operation of a radio or telephone.

• Kristopher Russell Stewart, 34, 85 Patricia Ave., Apartment D, Chatsworth, was charged Thursday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.
