Will Robison received the John Hinkle Club Service Award at the December 2008 meeting of the Carpet City Rotary Club held at The Farm.

The award was established in honor of the club’s first president, John Hinkle, and is given annually to the club member voted by the board of directors to “have made significant contributions in the area of club service for the year.”

Robison has had a profound impact on the club since his induction in November 2000, club members said. Accomplishments include serving as international chairman for three years, sergeant-at-arms for two years, president-elect and president. In 2007, he provided leadership for the club’s fundraising event “Swing for the Green $1 Million Shoot-out.”

“Will’s dedication and commitment to making our club stronger has been exemplary,” said one nominator. “He almost single-handedly made ‘Swing for the Green’ a great success last year. He is a model of what we look for in Rotarians.”

Carpet City Rotary meets Monday mornings at 7 at the Little Dipper at 238 N. Hamilton St. in downtown Dalton.
