Loveman legacy steadily disappearing

To the editor:
Recently, residents of Loveman Lane received notice from the city of Dalton that the street name of Loveman Lane is to be changed to Castle Road.
My concern is, that the poet, Robert Loveman whose long association with Dalton, will be forever lost to the community. As far as I know, Loveman is the only street to bear this famous man’s name.
There is no longer the Loveman residence, and only written words in poetry books will remain. Former City Park School children will fondly remember their trips to place daffodils on Loveman’s grave in his memory.
I wanted the rest of the community to know of the impending eradication of the legacy of Robert Loveman.
While I have no quarrel with the motive for this change, only the result.
I would welcome others to comment on this potential loss.
