Professional makeup artist Danielle Carpenter returns to conduct a final workshop for the Center for Continuing Education of Dalton State College. Hello, Gawgeous! Smokin’ Hot Glamour Makeup Techniques will be offered Saturday, Nov. 21, from 10 a.m. to noon.
“This class is about adding sizzle to a cosmetic routine,” said Kelly Snyder, personal enrichment coordinator. “Autumn is the kickoff of party and special event season. What better time to pull out all of the stops and kick the glam quotient up a few notches? Natural is nice, but sometimes the occasion calls for something with more ‘wow’ power.”
Carpenter has been in the industry for eight years and currently works as a professional makeup artist with MAC Cosmetics. She’s created cosmetic artistry for independent films, local commercials, tutorial videos and countless weddings. Now she’s bringing her knowledge and experience back to Dalton State.
“Danielle has conducted two previous workshops for continuing education and received very high evaluations from her students,” Snyder said. “She is knowledgeable and understands what women want to know about using cosmetics. Danielle also has a fabulously fun personality and the two hours in this workshop will fly by as she helps students locate their inner sirens.”
“If you want to knock ‘em dead with Hollywood eyes, dewy skin and pouty lips, this is a don’t-miss workshop,” Carpenter said. “Think romantic date nights, think evening soirées, think holiday festivities. We are going to have a great time in this class and jam a lot of awesome information into two hours.”
Carpenter said she’s going to share insider tips and techniques that makeup artists often use to achieve red carpet-worthy looks. She’ll also discuss hot cosmetic trends including how to wear the latest eyeliners and how to create thick, lush lashes. Carpenter will also guide students as they learn to create sultry looks like a smoky eye and the flirtatious cat eye.
“This workshop will be entertaining and educational and students will walk away with a ton of new beauty know-how,” Snyder said. “Fun and fabulous! Bring your girlfriends.”
Cost for the workshop is $20, and pre-registration is required. Students who need more information or who would like to pre-register may call (706) 272-4454 or log on to www.daltonstate.edu/cce.
“Ladies, sometimes subtle just won’t cut it,” Carpenter concluded. “Cosmetics are big girls’ toys, so let’s play and get creative!”
